wool gathering

wool gathering

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

wool gathering

i tiptoe through a late-night

snack of poetry

a stack of words

morsels of madness

the Poe-side

of ravenous writing

the clock strikes two

i am discovered

the book closes

i am naked in intent

sated in content

and finally usurp sleep

as i sneak

under the cover

like a dark rose pressed between pages.
