Fire (and Ice)

by Erin L George

There's some sort of perversion

in watching her

as she rides him

in waves,

closing her eyes

she drifts

into an abyss so deep

there is no knowing

when

or if

she shall return

(melodramatic).

Yet,

I cannot close my own -

her hair tangling in my own

fantasies

of riding

higher

upon the lap and promises

of a man so strong.

He wears the mark of a dragon

like so many others

inked deep into his bicept

where fiery kisses are mocked

by alabaster gems

calling

wailing

as if coming so far

as from the moon

(melodic).

But,

my voice bleeds none -

squawking out a pitch so high

it tears at my sunburnt skin

and makes even those

casper white

gasp

fingernails

down his back,

yet silent.
