Fairy Tale

Fairy Tale

A Poem by Erin Lee

Fairy Tale

(an acrostic)

By Erin Lee

Flawless curtsey to the queen. He reaches for her. Hands a flaxen spun on a life well lived.

Another round? Yes, please! She twirls under moon beams and winks at the stars.

I’ve lived it: Countless kisses and eyes the color of a sunny day. Oh, sweet victory!

Ruby toes (and a matching scarf). He pulls her close. Arms built on honesty.

You wouldn’t know: Until you’ve tasted them. Apple pie at midnight with ice cream.

Tell me more. What might it be? He rides upon the whitest horse and waits for me.

Ask me again. She spins on summer grass, green to possibility. Crickets, toads and bees.

Like the smell of ocean breeze. Countless glances and wonderings:  What are you thinking?

Eternity. He gives her what she’s waited for. Glitter, evening whispers and fidelity.

The imagery in this poem is stunning. this flowed well and it has a bit of mythical feel to it.
