One Life

One Life

A Poem by Ethan Brill
"

How I feel daily summed up

"
Do YOU ever feel...
Like a cog in the wheel
Like a blade of grass
Blending in with the field

Cause lately I feel
Like I'm above it all
Like I'm the one you call
When you want to drop the bullshit
Just think about your life
Just think about the kids

Sex?
Why are you consumed by it
I might have been
But now I'm moving on
Leaving all my pain
Leaving the world as YOU know it
I am not the same
And this is my chance to show it

Watch me
Wish you could be
Determined and disciplined without difficulty
It comes from passion
It comes from the love my mother gave and gives me constantly

You have to think
Think to survive
You have to stay calm
You have to sing from the soul while you drive
Let it all out
Don't let them hold you inside

It's that certain combination of TV stations
Realizing relations can affect you detrimentally
This is so serious
This is the one life
The only one you will ever be

Brilliant, and inspiring.
We do only get one life, we should live it well.
I loved your rhyming on this one, comes naturally doesn't feel forced.
You put so much heart and emotion in to all your pieces I love it.
Your work is moving.
Great write :)
