Synopsis

"Could a machine ever possess a soul?"

For almost one hundred years, man has dreamed of creating a
conscious machine in his image. Seeking to imitate God, they have
tried and failed.

Until now.

In the year 2058, a huge explosion rocks Oralin, a coastal
“megacity” with a population of 15 million, heralding the
birth of the newest human AI. Her name is Selene, brought into
this world by a team of dedicated programmers and engineers who
were all vaporized after she had been awakened.

She was found wandering by Cileste, a woman who makes her living
hacking computers. After Selene comes to stay with her, Cileste
and her small family are hunted by government agencies and unseen
forces. Whether they are good or bad Cileste does not know. All
she knows is that she has to run, and keep running.

Yet not everything is as it seems, for the farther they run, the
more Cileste begins to suspect Selene’s true nature.

Will Selene's secret spell out disaster? Or a new hope?
