I Am a Black Dog

I Am a Black Dog

A Poem by Ethan Talby

Wandering like a young fool

Happen by my old school

With my new mule

Meet a girl I dearly miss

Wanting to give her a kiss

But I had to resist

Mourning as I fall down

My friends all around

Screw me in the ground

They fill me in

With every bit of sin

And then I begin

To illuminate a smile

For I'd walk a mile

Through my friend's vile

They are who they are

I give the past no care

As I leave it bare

To those who swear

Me out of fear

That I won't be near

I give all my love

Screw a glove

But I'm no dove

I am a black dog

Not a red bird, not a blue frog

I am a black dog

Not a green tree, not a brown log

I am a black dog
