My Sweet Dream Girl

My Sweet Dream Girl

A Poem by Ethan Talby

I wake up in bed and begin to drown

Underneath everyone's excuses that bring forth a frown

Two jewels glimmer Bette Davis style

Complimented by a pearl smile

You throw me in an upside down whirl

My Sweet Dream Girl

I am painted blue and walk through town

Whose folks only bring me down

As I walk through a Nile

Of their troubles of vile

I see you and my word unfurls

My Sweet Dream Girl

I walk over to the old school

Whose teachers act so cruel

Staring at you from a distance

Feeling that I lack existance

When I'm with you i'm not foul

My Sweet Dream Gal

I hear an old man desperate to be cool

We all know he is no fool

Search for you and we glance an instance

Yet I already feel your resistance

I want to be your lover, I don't want to be your pal

My Sweet Dream Gal

I take a journey to your home

Through the smoke filled unknown

Standing outside in the unholy rain

Knowing soon I'll have no more pain

For you I'd do more than I can

My Sweet Dream Woman

I keep rolling along like a stone

Constantly feeling on my own

I have nothing except my own remains

I have only one thing to gain

I'd give my family, friends, possesions, and land

My Sweet Dream Woman

I beleive you're everything I'm not

Your sadness makes my soul rot

I don't care what others say

For you are my shining ray

It's always yes, never no, never maybe

My Sweet Dream Lady

I lost my shot

Missing what I've never got

Time is slowly drifting away

Life fades more and more each day

But you make things revert their fading

My Sweet Dream Lady
