Oh I Wish

Oh I Wish

A Poem by Ethan Talby

Oh I wish

I was a catfish

Swimming through the deep, deep sea

All the fishers coming after me

Oh I concede

I was a seed

Growing into a tall, tall tree

All the lumberjacks coming after me

Oh I saw afar

I was a car

Traveling so long, long and lonely

All the coppers coming after me

Oh I heard

I was a bird

Flying so high, high and free

All the hunters coming after me

Oh I resign

I was a rhyme

Written so true, true and beautifully

All the critics coming after me
