Now That I'm Erin

Now That I'm Erin

A Poem by Ella Emergency

The thing no one understands is this:

I don’t need anyone to worry for me.

I don’t need anyone to try to fix me.

It does no one any good to try

Because I’m irreparable

And I’m already used to it, anyway.

I don’t need to fall in love,

In fact, I would hate if I did.

Love is an enigma,

Not worth taking the time to solve.

Love won’t fix me either.

I don’t need a new direction,

And I certainly don’t need more guidance.

All I really need is a place to call home,

For once in my life to belong;

For once, to just know I’m really alive.

I need less stability and more options.

I need a city with a scene that’s hard to beat.
