Barbie

Barbie

A Poem by Eve

There she lay

waiting to be played with

just one more time.

Shut in a box

and awaiting the day

she is taken out again.

Praying for one more chance-

just one more

to make a little girl smile one more time.

She yearns for the child to change

her clothes

and brush her hair.

Her clothes are still clean-

and her hair is still pristine-

yet- she desires stained clothes

and matted hair.

Her immaculate appearance

flaunts the abandonment she has become

far too acquainted with

throughout the years.

She is not wanted-

she is envied.

She is not loved-

She is beautiful.

So here she lay

waiting to played with

just one more time
