Ghost

A Story by Leen

Chapter 1

I can smell the scent of burnt wood and melting steel around me. As I opened my eyes, I realized that I can’t breathe. I tried to move but my body doesn’t do my commands. I am then covered with sweat because of the heat that surrounds me. The room I am in slowly becomes smaller and smaller until its compresses my body. I am little by little squeezed onto my position. Until then, I.. stopped.. breathing..

I suddenly woke up from the terrible nightmare. My hands automatically wrapped around my neck. I felt at ease knowing that I am still alive. I always had those nightmares ever since IT happened. The cold breeze suddenly approached my skin for my window suddenly opened wide. I screamed in shock but stopped when I remembered that my window had problems with its spring locks. Even though my blankets keep me warm, I still stood up to close the window to stop the cold air from entering my room.

My feet led me back to my warm bed and my hands automatically grabbed my blankets and covered it to my whole body. Although my body was ready for sleeping, my eyes are still wide open staring at my cracked ceiling. Due to my impatience, I took sleeping pills and went to bed until I was able to sleep.
