Sweet Lady Cancer

Sweet Lady Cancer

A Poem by S. Michael Long

Sweet lady cancer,
how do you swell within my soul?

Sweetness; lady cancer
let's make a deal before control.

Sweet lady cancer,
you saw my name and took a vow,

Sweet lady cancer,
I saw the doctor, where are you now?

Sweet lady cancer,
you're lying low and hiding in fear,

Sweet lady cancer,
I relish my time while you draw near,

Sweet lady cancer,
you aren't as tough as you once thought.

Sweetness; lady cancer,
you cannot take what you have not got.

I love this! Your style is amazing! OK, I really like the way you've organized this, with the 2 lined stanzas. It looks neat and makes it all the more interesting. And of course, your words are beautiful too! The idea to start every line with "Sweet Lady Cancer" was genius C= And the message is wonderful too! Great work!

I liked this. In many cases, cancer isn't an automatic death sentence. Did you or someone you know have/beat cancer?
