The Painter

The Painter

A Poem by exotic flotsam
"

A poem about one afraid of showing inner self. Attempting a protective facade, the inner self is revealed.

"

The Painter
I decided to paint
My outside wall
I seep through, revealing me
Tainting my facade

Submerged truth
Congeals my flaws
None see
Eluding intimacy’s pollution

I’ve left my wall untouched for too long
The paint can rust
Sullies my color
Sullies me

The brush drips my virtue
With a perfect stroke,
Imperfect color slices, my wall
Better than before
Better

Unpainted bares me, so
I paint my wall
For any to see
Behind my new paint
I have painted only me

i really like the ending. Painting yourself behind the first image. How I see it, after painting for the world to see the true meaning is hidden behind it.
