Mental Collision

Mental Collision

A Poem by ROSA

I am incapable of denying the content sensation I wish to feel,
As I observe the once lucent colour drain from your eyes.
My repetitive lack of love is reprehensible; yet oh so arduous to reveal.
Regardless I'll obey, though your predilection of comfort is certainly unwise.

Might we release this false illusion we've treacherously lived in?
My mind is at war, with comfort and your desire...
You're desperate for reassurance, dismissing even the slightest chance of your insecurities receiving the win.
How can you not grasp my inability to feel such love, to ignite such a pernicious fire?

I'm made endlessly aware of my resistance to surrender my thoughts,
Though you're ceaseless in your attempts to win my heart.
What you have yet to discover is, you were defeated the very moment you began connecting the dots.
You never took the hour to process that I am a walking tragedy...an unfinished work of art.
