hospital stay musings

i wish i lived in a world where people who beat mental illnesses were seen as noteworthy. because f**k this, i'd rather have cancer, because at least cancer survivors are praised for fighting so hard. where's my praise, when i fight my mind, all day every day? 

because a cancer patient in remission is seen as a miracle, but a depressed person having a good day is seen as a faker. because if cancer kills you, you were strong, and you fought a battle. if my mind kills me, people will say i did this for attention.

because cancer patients have a world of support, even though everyone in the world might not be able to save them. but those with mental illness suffer alone, when only one person could have made all the difference.
