Concede

Concede

A Poem by K.P.H.M
"

verb; admit that something is true or valid after first denying or resisting it.

"
Down creek,

Where the willows weep,

That is where we buried our secret,

Deep.

Through the reeds,

And all of our dreams,

Black birds bend our trees.

Fireside we remain,

Precipice forgotten,

Because we could never explain,

How we were both so,

Insatiable,

For our unattainable.

Smitten,

But unwritten.

I wish I could hearten,

But I would rather be forgotten,

Because it hurts less,

To love you in the rearview mirror,

Then it does to love you without fear.

Nice word concede. Concede and move on. I really like this.

This poem is amazing for the light it throws on relationships.
Some great imagery and the conclusion makes it special.
You helped me view the word indepth and in a new light.
Thanks for sharing.

That is one way of looking at it and fortunately or unfortunately that is the way it happens often...love in the rearview mirror. it does hurt less that way, after a few miles. I really like the message here. It is something I can relate to in both scenarios.
