Evil

Evil

A Poem by Faith Kinnison

Evil

His life has been taken over

By the demons in his soul

Each day is a struggle, for control

He sits on a stool, at the bar

A beer in his hand and foam on his nose

He tries not to, but he takes a sip

The one drink was all it took

Now his judgment is lost, and his mind is gone

He doesn't even realize, he's been gone too long

He'll come home to an empty house

His wife and kids are long since gone

He'll sit against the wall and put his head in his hands

He won’t believe what has happened

Only the alcohol can help him now

Distort his memory

Convince him that he's done nothing wrong

But his life is gone

He won’t know how to survive

Will he make it until tomorrow?
