He Wore A Mask

He Wore A Mask

A Poem by Tallulah
"

He didn't realize all that he was....

"

He didn't know everything he was

He had an outward appearance

Of arrogance.

Made others believe that

He thought

That he was better then everyone

That wasn't who he was.

He wore a mask

One glued to his face

So tightly

You thought the mask

Didn't exist

But that it was just him

Looking closely

You could see the cracks

That mask held

You could see the seams

Beneath that mask

Of arrogance

There was someone

So unlike

Who he pretended to be

He was different

Kind and caring

But so down on himself

It made one worry.

He wore a mask

To protect himself

To be who he wasn't

To appear strong.

He wore that mask

To decieve.

all people wear masks, to hide what they see themselves as. but the question really isnt who they are inside, its what does the world see them as, cause in the end that is all that matters. a person who is truthful and kind, seen by the world as a devil will ultimately live, die and be remembered as a devil. reality is relative.

I like this! I love the idea of arrogance as a mask in front of a kind person. Well done! ^^

Since Im from the inner city i can relate to this piece.......I see so many arrogant tough guys but a lot of them are just scared. But are too afraid to admit because the environment. No one is supposed to see your vulnerability. It is a sign of weakness. So we wear masks to hide ourselves. great piece :)

Beautiful work. So much truth about life's deceptions. To be so young you certainly nailed it on the head that most of us hide behind a mask, rather than risk being hurt.
