The Vessel

The Vessel

A Poem by Faati Jaan

my mother removed
the vessel of her womanhood
in hopes that the sorrow and pain
would fade with it.

but they remained.

doesn’t she know
her beauty and strength
were birthed from the distress,
the anguishes of her femininity?

Your words seem to be coming from a private place. Being a man, I would never assume to be familiar with feminism. Though I know women experience a great deal more emotionally than many men. I will leave it at that for this writing.
