I Do Not Understand...

I do not understand why you left me,
   I was so small and innocent.
I do not understand why I still love you,
   After everything you never did.
I do not understand why I feel so alone,
   I wish i could see you.
I do not understand why he beat you and I,
   I kept thinking I deserved it.
I do not understand why I am who I am,
   I don't even know my strengths.
I do not understand why you stayed with him,
   He treated you badly.
I do not understand why you loved me so much,
   You never cared enough.
I do not understand why I'm still alive...

But I know it's because you weren't really there.
So I learned for myself.
I know I'm supposed to be in this world for a reason.
I'm going to find my purpose in life.
I understand now.
