April Refrain

April Refrain

A Poem by James Paulin

Bird with breast of russet red

Perched herald’s cry echoing

Listen to hear what’s been said

“It’s Spring! I sing, I sing”

Repeated here and much more

Joy to end winter ailing

Simple song to spirit soars

“It’s Spring! I sing, I sing”

Bird with breast of russet red ---to say this is a wonderful Onomatopoeia, so enchanting!
Perched herald’s cry echoing ---------- another one... all over ... this poem was spinning its webs behind my darkened windows accumulating joy.so good to have your brilliance.

And what a joyous time of year it is. I've been admiring those russet-red-breasted fellows for some time now, and am always glad to see them.
