Forget Me Not

Forget Me Not

A Poem by James Paulin

Forget Me Not

keepsakes unlock memories embraced

objects of love bearing precious define

sparks of thought to view, touch and taste

embers of essence kindle remind

snippet of hair of one gone before

ribbon or ring, an old fish lure

keys that open near sealed doors

to savor again and hold secure

I love this idea of a trail of bread crumbs to keep memories alive. These small things, many times with no value, other than sentimental, keep our loved ones close by for a long time after they have left us. Well done. Thank you for sharing.
