cold night

cold night

A Poem by flaco

The early winter wind blows thru the night

a howl to a whisper --back to a howl

tree branches  whip  , scratch and tickle the sides of  our  house

the wind chime on the porch is angry and a lone dog barks off in the distance

no answer coming back

the warmth created  by my naked wife
                       deep inside our  blankets
                       is  a comfort
a comfort  we should all feel on a night  like this

I draw a bit closer hoping she will not push  me away

I like the way this poem moves from cold/ no connection to warmth/ hopefully unbroken connection. This is a lovely poem.

I love your style of writing. The simplicity of it is quite touching.
