An Unborn Creation

An Unborn Creation

A Story by Kitty
"

The silent voice of an unborn child, who's mother is contemplating abortion. The child has so many hopes to meet his mom and live.

"

He said I was a gift and that I would be deeply loved by you.

I am getting strong for you right now

God said that I have arms to hug you with

I have feet to run to you

I have lips to kiss you and tell you I love you

And eyes to see your beautiful smile.

I am being knit by the Creator in my mothers womb, awaiting for my life to begin

For now, I lay in the secret place, getting stronger every day

I can’t wait to meet you, I promise to love you as long as I live.

I promise to make you laugh as I stumble in my attempt to walk

I promise to make your heart soar when I learn to say “mamma” for the first time.

I can’t wait to meet  you.

Thank you for loving me.

I can hear your laughter in the distance even in this place, and It’s a beautiful

song to my ears. I get so excited, im sure you can feel it sometimes.

I long to see your beautiful face mommy.

When I grow up I will learn many things from you

I will learn how to love God through you

And when you’re down, I will be there to cheer you up

My love will lift you up, He said I would.

He said that you needed me.

He said that I was a gift for you.

He said that I was fearfully and wonderfully made

Because I was made in His image

I am a part of Him, and of you.

I cant wait to be born

There is so much to do when I arrive.

We will love and serve God together

We will walk through this life hand in hand

In good times and in bad.

But for now, I wait in this quiet place

Getting stronger, and growing everyday.

Im so glad you chose to have me

Thank you for giving me life.

I stumbled upon this poem, it made me cry. So beautifully written. I love how you use scripture in this poem, the brutalities of abortion is always avoided, the thought of the child BEING a child seems to be escaping everyone's mind when the subject is talked about. Thank you for the informative and beautiful poem of hope.

this one, for personal reasons caused waterworks for me too. It is a beautiful poem and a truth - life is precious, and children....while they do cause heartache...can also bring indescribable love and joy. I need to go hug mine now. Peace.

Positively wonderful.

I love how the baby's mother is the center of his world - it's very natural, and kind of thought provoking when you realize what the mom might be thinking. It's also wonderful how strongly God appears in this, a reminder of where these children come from. As Siobhan said, a beautiful poem full of hope.
