Forgotten Dance

Forgotten Dance

A Poem by MARZ
"

Ask next time.

"

Can't remember the

dance without the song

Don't know the song because it's not

in English.

It's some Hindi pop you heard in a gas station

you didn't want to ask the name of the artist because

your uncle would've said,

"Why do you want to listen to

terrorism music

anyway?"

And while the

terrorist

was pumping your gas

you made up a soft dance to go with

the galloping rhythm

Cheh-cheh-boom, cheh-cheh-boom

cheh-cheh-boom.

Uncle paid and you drove away

the dance faded out of mind

-evaporating bangles and shimmies-

You prowl on google for the song and memory to

rush back.

cheh-cheh-boom, cheh-cheh-boom.

Jeez, I love your writing! This isn't a very erudite review. I have nothing contructive to add. But maybe I do. I read this and I felt good. I wanted to tell 'uncle' to blow it out his butt. All while I was going, cheh-cheh-boom!
