Fall

Fall

A Poem by MARZ

The dancer with spinal problems

jumped off a building

failed her mission.

Her reconstructed foot and pelvis

really have no purpose.

can't have babies,

harder to twirl in a wheelchair

can't have babies,

harder to stand with

23 screws holding her foot together

She looks at the x-rays

She feels the bolts in her legs

She's a bionic woman

She says,

"I didn't like dancing much

anyway."
