Simply My Friend

Simply My Friend

A Poem by LaPluma
"

Inspired by my friend Lorna M.

"

Sometimes it just doesn't matter, we just need friends.

I have been blessed with you, your simple smile and philosophies.

Your eyes spell truth, warmth and compassion.

You don't point to blame nor do you heckle me to shame....

Simply put, you are a wonderful friend.

Will we know each other at the worlds end?

Will we talk on the phone and visit about God?

Where does the journey of friendship end?

I have had plenty of acquaintances, a lot of people I've known.

I wonder where they are?  When did we say goodbye forever?

I realize now that we aren't always meant to have

Friends that last until the day we die. You ask me why?

I have found that though I have known people for a short time,

Have been through so much with certain ones,

Cried and laughed then went on our different ways.

Regardless of the time alotted, we have touched one another

And in the camera of our minds, the memories lay like film.

Every so often we recall the picture of those memories....

And there you are!  Simply beautiful, simply my friend.
