never

never

A Poem by Frank M Keller

The light did not shine today,

it did not break that ugly shade of gray.

the dark past consuming hope leaving behind regrets.

Giving all and nothing asked in return

every last heart beat

every last breath

every last thought

yet

it was never enough.

never good enough

never the best

Something is disturbed here, but I don't know what it is. It's base context is a personal feeling, but there is no image attached to the feeling that you are trying to deliver. I think we need details about the 'it' of the poem, which I'm assuming might actually be a person, but even then I'm just left to assume what is going on. It feels like this is a topic that you do not know how to breach or that you are not ready to. You should never hold anything back in a poem for the readers sake or for the sake of being elusive.

very good, well written, but a sad piece. mixed in it's smooth flow however, is a tinge of hope. Maybe tomorrow the sun will shine. There is always that for us writers.

Excellent.

I read your statement on your profile and said to myself "this person is gonna be good." You are. :)
