nyctophobia

A Poem by frances
"

Nyctophobia is a poem that entails the fears that the night can evoke. Semi-autobiographical - I am too afraid of what darkness may hold.

2 a.m
It's silent, yet there seems to be some ambience in the air
The darkness contains such ambiguity
as to what may be hidden in the cracks of the walls.
3 a.m
Is it my mind evoking these daemons?
The ones hidden under the bed,
grasping at your feet in the night.
The sound of the wind's voice, the croaking of the floorboards.
