Empty

Empty

A Poem by FreedomSeeker
"

The feeling of emptiness to me

"
No dreams to anchor to
going through the motions
surviving
Why am I even surviving-
soon i'll have no emotions
and hate the youth
not for their freedom
but for their soul

I need something

I want a cigarette
Alcohol
Sex with a stranger
stranger the better
Get lost
Run away

Anything to feel alive
Anything at all
I'll try everything
whatever you got.

Author's Note

FreedomSeeker
I don't consider myself a poet, or even that I can write poems… Its just nice to get thoughts onto paper- it helps me think better and I decided to share incase others have experienced similar feelings to mine own.

"No dreams to anchor to // going through the motions"
Those two lines really pulled me into this one. You really managed to grab on to that feeling of aimlessness, the frustration, maybe even anger of it to an extent (but that may just be my analysis).
On a side note I do believe every poet starts with what you describe. That need to put thoughts and emotion to pen and paper, to sort through one's mind.
