in which i should perhaps feel rather foolish

in which i should perhaps feel rather foolish

A Poem by freelancejouster

jack hammer tapping at my noggin,
breaking thoughts into pieces
and patience into fragments

and i know that i should
think before i speak,
and perhaps even
take a breath,

but i spontaneously combusted
at my poor husband
when he tapped me on the shoulder

disrupting my concentration
when he knows that i needed this done
about yesterday

to ask me where i'd like to eat
for supper.

Definitely emphasizes the fragile nature of people when they're stressed out. Pretty much anything can make you snap. Know that feeling pretty well. Love the emphasis in the fourth stanza.

clever... i like how the focus of your poems doesn't seem to fall into place until the last few lines...great work... love it!
