Dear van Pelt Children

Dear van Pelt Children

A Poem by freelancejouster

Hey, Lucy
what are you waiting for,
your blue dress has faded
far too long ago
to play keep-away
football
with small
bumble bee-colored children.

Hey, Linus
your blanket's rusting,
falling in tatters
upon the ancient floor.
you sister's gray
has fallen
and your thumb's
been sucked away.

how lonely it is
to age and rot away.

I liked it a lot, it had a really great message about growing up. I love the Peanuts. I think you could have kept going and used more of the characters. You did a really good job.

I don't know Peanuts that well, only from the few parodies and such I've seen on TV, but this is quite brutal. To think of those kids grown up in the way you describe is terrible. I actually felt disgusted, but I suppose that makes it a good write!
