A Prayer

A Prayer

A Poem by French Flair

Something I'm going through right now, just that I kind of put my thoughts into writing. Tell me what you think. Much appreciated (: xx

A Prayer

One family,
On the verge of being forced out,
Forced out of their own house,
The house which they have living in
For the past 8 years,
Maybe more,
But does it really matter now?

A child at the dinner table,
Staring down,
Wondering when her last meal
In the house will be,
The house she referred to as home,
Now being taken away by strangers,
The home that she,
At a point in her life,
Was the only thing that she could find comfort in,
When she was having a bad day in school,
Or just felt downright sad,
Her home would soon be gone.

She hears her mom,
Talking on the phone,
As the words “Times are rough now” are heard,
She stares down at the table,
Not sure what to think anymore,
Home sweet home,
Would no longer be,
And everyday,
All that she can do,
Is look up to God,
And pray that these strangers,
That they don’t take away one of the most important things
In her life now.
As tears well up in her eyes,
She realizes,
Cherish what you have now,
Before it’s gone.

A sad state of affairs that many are going through at this time. Does not make yours any less tragic. I hope this issue was resolved and you were allowed to stay in your home. You did a great job describing a little girls turmoil over something a child should not even have to consider. May God bless your family and keep that talented pen moving.

This is heartbreaking. I relate as I believe most do. Unfortunately, it's part of what many have to endure in life and teaches that difficult lesson of how to accept and embrace change. Prayer is powerful. It may not give us the exact answer we are seeking, but prayer is definitely answered -- with faith. Nice work :)
