fools gold

fools gold

A Poem by poeticsafari
"

When things are at a stopping point the simplest words traverse across the greatest of plains

"

Compare me not to the fools gold

Nor the lovers remorse
Fade out your perceived colors
Acknowledge not that I exist
For the good of others instead
Notice me for the things I've done
Or the things I've yet to do
Compare me not to the ghastly wales
Or the stars ember waves
Instead compare me on the basis
Of the one thing that remains my own
