Slight Northern Breeze

 Warm afternoon walk

through Sewell Park:

people are sunbathing

and swimming in the stream,

a young dog jumps into the water

at his master’s command,

ducks pedal about,

squirrels play,

and the only thing

that reminds me

that it’s winter

is a slight

northern

breeze.
