Heroin

Heroin

A Poem by zwartenkot

Heroin

My heart is aching, I know what it's craving.
You got me spinning, I don't know where I'm going.
You got begging.
You got me pleading.
You got me on my knees.
Baby, stop playing with my head.
Baby, baby why can't you see.
Playing around has taken its toll on me.
Its getting harder, and harder to fight.
I don't know how much longer I can stay away.

You're my drug.
You're my love.
You make me dizzy in ways that I can't explain.
You're making me work hard for this.
Why don't you stop playing your dirty tricks.
I can't breathe when you are near
I can't think, my head isn't clear.
You're my love
You're my drug.
You're my personal brand of heroin.

Wow, this hit home for me in both ways, not just the concept of Love as a drug...

To be honest, I've had my share of drug problems and this is actually very accurate in terms of opiate abuse. Luckily, I've been off for months and I'm doing good. Also Love is practically a drug in many ways. Sorry for the digression.

This is a very poignant poem and I think it's amazing in most ways.

Nice job, Z. ;)

Good poem. I read it and thought of Neil Young's song, 'Needle and the Damage Done,' and how toxic relationships can be so dangerous. Nice work, zwartenkot. Thanks for sharing your writing.
