she ain't coming back

she ain't coming back

A Poem by marcus t. galloway
"

poem written after relationship ended with the first girl i ever loved

"
from the lies and the sex
going through text
lack of respect
knowing that it was over
still crushed when you left
feeling like it was wrong to do
still i longed for you
pick up the phone
dial like 6 numbers the whew!
close call almost called you that time
honestly want nothing more than ta have you out of my mind
a strong man can't understand why I can't shake this
creating make shift relationships
going through boxes of latex
still nothin
the real of it is its still love in my heart
I'll process it to progress and then start
ta live for me
we fell in love then it fell apart
she took a piece of my heart
trying ta find love in a dark cold world
ol girl had me sprung like joe torey
but my stories the same as yours
so don't cry for me
its life
we take the lumps in with times that was jumpin
when I say I understand, understand that i was frontin
my pride won't let you know
its too hard to let it go
please God grant me peace of mind
and take what I don't
need
like the bitterness, resentment
relentless attack on my thoughts and how it ended
we intended on the picket fence
we was pickin fights
hard pill to swallow my ex walked right out of my life
and she ain't comin back

It is hard to move forward after a relationship is over, especially if you are the one that did not end it. Usually by the time someone leaves they are already over it, but for the one left behind they are in shock and it takes time to process their own feelings about it. I thought this was a heart felt depiction of the one left standing there. Keep writing.
