Jabbing Ribs

Jabbing Ribs

A Poem by victor

Jabbed ribs, closed doors

watching washer women wet floors

The situation has been complicated by foolishness

The pain is in the grain of the wood

captured by centuries of stupid hoods

Kept sane by steady drains of the cerebral consortium of constant crazy cash cropped clever endeavours meant not only to keep us afloat but to soak those at other end of the joke

fidgeting about all the lost opportunities flicked in the wind of opening shows in which no one glows.

tired now, my head is mush

too much synaptic situations that have collided on nerve fibred paths

rutted out by so much wrath

Friday’s payday,may day

but your resources are soon exhausted

And you find the fling you posted looking for a side of the ride

that was not so tough

It’s not happening, seems contrived, too intentional, quite conventional

break the scheme, drag in a dream and make it all seem

To be a lyrical sway and dog down day

In which you bray all that there is to say

so much scum to swirl

till your brain is drained

And some clarity regained

it could be claimed

that it is all the same

all a game in which the sides are but

opposite conditions of the same conditional field

each depending on the other for their yield

In apparent contrast

they stick to you with the same glue

stuck to your shoe

colouring your hue

occupying the pew

that will give you the clue

of how to be new

gathering clouds of thickening disappointment

hurts that seem eternal

nasty brutish and cagey

Staging a criss- cross of prickly moss

on your all to evident loss

So how to go through when all seems so blue

relying of the disposition of time

To get you through this slime

determined, alert and relaxed

bring you face front with the facts

sharp is the axe

That cuts the entanglement

of all the grime muddying your vision

thwarting your decision

We will then take time

To unwind with love and compassion and try to reach the station that waits in the corridors of elation.
