Solitary

Solitary

A Poem by G. K. Bostic

Sable sky lightens with sun’s sloth-like

Entrance into dawn,

And with it comes wakening awareness

And recall of heartbreak.

Languid limbs plod through remembrance

Of wicked words,

Cold daggers on pages of pain..

Left at the altar, gown of white turned to ash,

Deserted, desolate…

Honeymoon unescorted, unwanted, unmarried.

Turquoise tears filling the sea,

Native of nowhere pulling into the

Dock of desolation.

i don't know the word list and honestly i don't give a damn about it. your poem is an excellently painted image, and i was able to see with my mind's eyes the entire picture, and feel the pain going through this. ultimate disappointment conveyed in a very plastic way. so who cares if this was written for a challenge!? it's a very good poem!
