The Emerald Charm

The Emerald Charm

A Poem by Chaos

The Emerald Charm

She sat on the warm green murky hill

A layer of mist surrounded her

On bended knee she called to me

convincing me to walk closer.

Her long flowing locks

Of gold melted with sapphire

Her dress as white as baby’s breath

Draped in velvet desire

Wrapped around her ivory hand

Was a black leather woven band

dangling on the cord was seen

a gem colored deep dark green

It swayed with her movement

as I moved in close

it shined with its power

of youth’s musical notes.

Even in the midst

of an inebriated rhyme

I was drawn to the charm

It called my name in time

I embraced the gems power

feeling green wash over me

Back arching with the command

My former self is but a dream

As the gem turned to sand

Instantly in my hand

I apprehended the last grain

And began to sing

For the wisest men

Know the emerald Charm can bring

The supremacy of youth

again; so sing.
