Mother Moon.

Mother Moon.

A Poem by Chaos
"

Appreciating the simplicity of the moon.

"

Oh mother moon,
what a sight to behold;
full of strength and wisdom
power and treasures untold

Magic and mystery
She watches by night
Watching over her children
with her shimmering guiding light

She is the giver of gifts
to people and the harvest
She blesses every morsel
and shines a path through the forest.

Like the mother who waits
so does she night sky
for someone to notice her
and not to pass her by

Moon rays what do you have to teach us
and will we take the time
to see what you have taught us
and apply it to our lives

The majesty of our moon
controls thoughts and tides
too tragic to take for granted
in simplicty her beauty lies

The number of whispered prayers
quoted by man and child
hoping that you would hear them
and grant them peace for awhile

Author's Note

Chaos
This was a challenge. I had to write a poem and to remember the moon was a woman.

I think you should leave this one alone!!! This is one of my favorite poems and to me it is perfect just the way it is.

Should I clean up the meter? Do you think this would help with my piece? Thank you for taking the time to read through this. I happen to think this poem is simple, but maybe it's too simple.

you rose to the challenge I think. The moon represents the mother goddess and has been worshipped since the dawn of time. You employed a regular rhyming pattern but paid no attention to meter which is a shameHowever your message came across with clarity
