A Pious Man

A Pious Man

A Poem by Chaos
"

I wrote this for 10 word contest, but I missed the dead line

"

Look at the pious man

Consuming the sacrament of hypocrisy

His pale English features

Standing behind his pulpit showing me the way

God’s chosen warrior

Speaks how God will cast us to death in the firery hell

Behind his crimson robe

It’s clear his guilt glints through his duplicity

i really love your word choice in this poem. the most tinteresting thing about it is how you bring in certain elements to spice up the poem (god, hell, english features) its not the most original but pulle doff very well in this setting. your visual that you paint here is exquised and masterfully done. i wish that you would have gone a little further with the story, or the man himself. this might bring a better sense of being there or wanting to be there. id love for you to read a couple of my poems and tell me what you think as well.

Your description of the good reverend is shown to be true far too often. Your poem is sharp and descriptive.
