Aphrodite

Aphrodite

A Poem by GeekInTheBlack

Before I fell for you,

I used to be Artemis.

Crushes flew like arrows,

but I resisted them.

Love walked by me,

but I looked straight ahead.

But you have a lightning bolt

rivaling Zeus’s.

You struck me.

You electrified me.

You jumpstarted me.

I was changed.

Poseidon poured

and drowned me

feelings I stopped denying.

Dionysus got me drunk in love

every time my eyes lay on you.

Because you might not be

the most beautiful girl,

but you will always be

Aphrodite

to me.

I love to write. I write to tell stories-- from simple to complicated, from ordinary to bizarre I write to feed the ego of my imagination, to produce a visual of the ideas in my head. .. more..
