Sonnet about Passover

Sonnet about Passover

A Poem by Gerry Legister
"

instituted prior to be taking the journey from Egypt to the promise land

"

Rituals of Passover for decades commemorates
A journey from foreign land the emancipation,
Freedom gained relieved shadow under the cross,
Left history stained during unbearable days of Nisan.

For eight days they celebrate derivatives of flight,
And left in haste the leaven bread they baked
With the taste of bitter sweetness in the night,
Angels passing over trek first the path ahead.

Fled with emotions riding high in prayers defy,
The exodus took command of the royal strand,
By a mighty hand betwixt the sea and horrid sky
Drive asunder the rolling waves back upon the sand

Calm is the intensive process the ceremony culminates.
Festival observances Passover commemorates.
