Too Early, Too Late

Too Early, Too Late

Too Early, Too Late

Verse 1

There's a knock at my door in the middle of the night

I awake from bed to answer it

To my surprise, it's you

I can't believe at this hour you'd stop by the visit

You get me up from my peaceful sleep

Now I'm in a bad mood

Verse 2

I made dinner reservations for the both of us

The restaurant's new and clean

Everyone's talking about it

I even dressed up for the occasion

I wanted the evening to be perfect

But things didn't go as planned

Bridge

I will not put my life on hold

Get your act together

Whatever you're doing it, it has to stop

I will not tolerate your behaviour any longer

I don't like it when you're too early or too late

Chorus 1

This time you're too early

Couldn't you have waited?

3 a.m. is never an appropriate time for me

If this was the weekend

I would have been less irritated

Since it isn't, I am going back to sleep

Chorus 2

This time you're late

Why didn't you arrive on time?

We agreed to meet at 7, but you showed up at 8

You didn't even call me to say you would be late

You expected me to keep waiting

This time you're right

Next time you'll be wrong
