Inside Wants Out

Inside Wants Out

A Poem by ghaw2007

Inside Wants Out

Verse 1

My inside is like a dynamite

And anything can set it off

My anger, frustration, and sadness have the power to do so

I feel a war waging inside of me

And many of my soldiers are dying quickly

I'm trying to keep things under control

But my outer body is becoming weaker

Verse 2

Sometimes I lock myself inside my home

Whenever I feel tremors on my body

The barricades and brickwalls within me

Are tumbling down ever so quickly

My temperature is soaring through the roof

No measures that I take are full proof

My heart is pounding, my body's turning blue

Nothing that I go through is ever new

Chorus

My inside desperately wants out

At any time, it can escape

It feels like it's been trapped

So it goes through great lengths to be released
