Things We Do

Things We Do

A Poem by ghaw2007

Things We Do

Verse 1

I listen to your phone conversations

I read your emails

I follow you around

And I'll continue to do so

Verse 2

You sometimes talk behind my back

You disregard my feelings

You don't respect me the way you should

When I'm with you, you're condescending

Bridge

I'm suspicious of your behaviour

Sometimes you think that you're my saviour

I choose my battles carefully

Your obsession with details drives me crazy

Chorus 1

Those are some of the things that I do to you

I guess I'm the jealous type

Sometimes I trust you

But when I don't, I pry into your life

Chorus 2

Those are some of the things that you do to me

I guess you feel I'm inferior to you

Sometimes you treat me like an equal

But when you don't, you put me down

Chorus 3

Those are some of the things that you and I do

We know we're not the perfect type

At least we agree on something

Rather than disagreeing on everything

We'll continue to work out our differences

So we can stop doing what we do now

Hopefully we'll realize that what we do is hurting the both of us

Or is it too late?
