If It Was You

If It Was You

If It Was You

Verse 1

Weren't you the one who lied to me

When I asked for the truth?

Weren't you the one who cheated on me

When I expected faithfulness?

Verse 2

Weren't you the one who slapped me across the face

Whenever you became angry?

Weren't you the one who put me down

When I had something to say?

You always thought you were smarter than me

Bridge

You claimed that you were perfect

But I saw your flaws

When I confronted you on whatever you did

You simply brushed them aside

You came home late, you drank too much

If you did all those things

Why are you still in my life?

Chorus

If it was you who broke my heart

Then why can't I let you go?

I should have thrown you out

I should have cursed at you

But I did neither

I guess I still love you
