Away

Away

A Poem by ghaw2007

Away

Verse 1

I've been watching you for a while now

It sounds sinister

But it's far from being devious

It's not in my nature to be

You're the one who is closer

To being on the dark side

Like a hurricane, what you do is unsettling

Verse 2

You think of yourself as royalty

Destined to rule over everything including me

Regardless of your beliefs

I'll never bow down to you

The crown you've placed upon your head

Is as fake as faux fur

Bridge 1

Don't come to me like a b-itch

Your harassment is out of style

I reject your drama

You won't inflict trauma

Bridge 2

My blood doesn't boil

As I've reached a new level of stillness

My voice doesn't carry the undertones of a call to arms

Transcending your influence was a struggle

But, ultimately, was successful

Chorus

Tales of loneliness and misery are a dime a dozen

If you flood this town with your tears

I'll build a cruise ship

And travel to where you don't reside

I must always be away from you
