Forgotten past

Forgotten past

A Poem by Ghiasquared

My heart and soul do not bleed
For long ago dead and gone
A caring ear is what I need
Waking dead upon this dawn

The sound of thunder pounding my mind
Dark clouds of storm brewing upon the horizon
This torrid world of the numb and blind
Acidic thoughts I've lost all reason

Long ago I saw the path of this life
I wandered far in search of me
Lost forever so full of strife
Blinded and weakened I cannot see

No one knows the pain I hold
For my soul is dark and locked away
I offer sacrifice for lies I've told
The rules I follow and now obey

Days of good may not last
Tides of sorrow I try to stem
Mistakes of mine rule my past
Today's task is forgetting them

"Mistakes of mine rule my past" ...just can't let them rule the future. Good write.

Nicely written poem with a great ending.
Good rhyme scheme, too.
Thanks for sharing.
